Amelia & Shaun’s Moody, Dreamlike Micro Wedding in London

Amelia and Shaun celebrated their nuptials at the iconic Home House, an 18th century private members club in London. The couple who had originally planned to wed in Rome was forced to change their wedding plans because of the pandemic. What was going to be destination wedding turned into a 15 guest micro wedding at home which nonetheless featured stunning architecture and beautiful floral decorations with a moody, dreamlike feel.

Amelia wore the Magnolia gown, from our 2019 Enchanted Blossom collection – a style that looked perfect on her and which beautifully complemented the otherworldly, wild bloom wedding theme. Tell us about the proposal

Shaun, my husband, proposed in Rome, one of our favorite places in the world. He managed to keep this a secret and it’s pretty hard to get past me. Only my family and one of my best girls knew! He proposed after a long lovely lunch at Zuma on the rooftop of the Fendi Suites. I had always wanted to stay here as it’s so beautiful and characteristic, and every detail was perfect. Our room at the Fendi Suites was decorated so perfectly with rose petals and an abundance of champagne!

What was your wedding theme and venue?

Our wedding initially was due to take place in Rome, and then the Maldives, but due to COVID-19, all of our plans had to be rearranged. Shaun and I have been together for 10 years so we were getting quite impatient and didn’t want to postpone this any further! We found a beautiful private members club in the heart of London called Home House. Home House has magnificent character. It is a collection of three Georgian Townhouses put together and was built in 1775. We have always loved true character and romance. As soon as we saw it we fell in love with it. It has a sweeping staircase central to the building. Our wedding was going to be in May initially, but ended up being in December so it was dark, moody and beautiful. The theme changed from a summer wedding of all-white florals, to a dark, wild floral look with amber lighting and over 1,000 candles setting the mood.

What did you love about planning your wedding?

I guess the fact that I never thought I would manage to do it in 2020 – but then when I saw a glimmer of hope for weddings I literally had less than a month to plan it! Every week the government guidelines would change so I had to stay positive and push through my ideas as quick as possible. I think the flowers were my favorite, and seeing my dream wedding come to life. Also choosing my dream dress!

What was your LPG gown shopping experience like?

I’m not your typical bride and I always wanted something different. The idea of visiting all the known dress brands was actually giving me anxiety as I knew I wouldn’t like any of the classic types. I needed to find something different, unique and wanted to stand out! I visited The Wedding Gallery in London and tried on the Magnolia for the first time and I just knew this was the dress. I tried many others but Magnolia kept coming back to the forefront of my mind every single day! So that was it, I flew to Tel-Aviv with my mum in January to meet with Lee herself. I needed to see and try on the full collection just in case anything would compare to Magnolia. Lee is honestly an inspiration to many and I instantly fell in love with her and her designs. She and everyone agreed Magnolia was the one for me. The customer service throughout COVID was honestly exceptional. We had monthly updates that the dress was still underway even through various lockdowns. The dress arrived 2 weeks prior to the wedding in my home in London, and it fit like a glove.

What are some of your favorite memories from your wedding?

Obviously marrying my husband, but just the warm feeling I got. The feeling of pure happiness and love. We were only allowed 15 people to our ceremony, which in a way felt so special and sentimental, with so much love in the room. But, we can’t wait to party properly this year with all our friends and extended family. The room  just looked so beautiful and was everything I could have imagined. Not to mention how insane I felt in Magnolia – there is no feeling like being in a dress you were actually in love with.
