Caryn and Ravid’s spectacular wedding on the Amalfi Coast took place at the historic Villa San Giacomo. A stunning private luxury villa in Positano with magnificent views of the coast. The couple said “I do” in a ceremony overlooking the sea which featured a backdrop of cliffs and pastel-colored villages on the highest point of Positano.
Caryn wore the Ellie, our silk tulle and embroidered lace mermaid wedding dress, which she found at our NYC Flagship boutique. For Caryn, the gown’s unique sleeves were the perfect detail for a destination wedding in Italy. My husband and I originally met in New York City where we used to work at the same firm. We were friends for several years first, but once we started dating, we knew pretty quickly that we would end up together… I think us being friends first built a good foundation.
Ravid is from Israel, so I knew from my sisters in law there are amazing Israeli wedding dress designers. I found that Spina Bride in New York sold Lee Grebenau dresses, which I had seen on Instagram! I tried a few dresses on at the flagship and they said I had time for one more, and when I put on the Ellie, I immediately knew it was the perfect dress, especially for a wedding in Italy. I felt it was so unique and special, and the sleeves were what really sold me. I had such a fun experience, and I had been looking to feel that moment when I put on a dress and felt like it was it, and I definitely felt that with the Ellie!
Some of our favorite memories of our wedding, and the weekend in general, were just getting a chance to see all our friends and family in such a beautiful place.
We wrote our own vows so there was a lot of emotion with those and with the speeches. Also, it was the first time our parents and siblings had met each other because they live so far apart. Our families stayed in the villa for four days together, so it was really nice for that opportunity to bond.
